COMMUNITY

Community Connections

We at NRUC organise many events on a regular basis to strengthen our ties with each other and with those in the community around us. Most if not all support worthy causes such as Frontier Services, Parramatta Mission or Together For Ryde. We would love to see YOU at any or all of them. If we don’t already do it, we would love to know what would be exactly the right Community Event for YOU.

Community Sunday

Join us from 9.30 on the third or fourth Sunday each month for a special Community Sunday service when we feature great activities for the kids, a vibrant, interactive worship experience and sumptuous morning tea/brunch refreshments that redefine the word ‘heavenly’. Each Community Sunday has a theme (such as Pentecost, Pets or Parramatta Mission) and everyone (friends, family, neighbours, pets) is welcome.

Every 3rd or 4th Sunday of the Month

Twilight Gardening

The garden at NRUC is a feature of our worship of a God who made the natural world around us and asks us to nurture its beauty and bounty at all times. Join our keenest gardeners every Thursday from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm for some healthy activity in the great outdoors garnished with good conversation and delicious refreshments.

3.00pm to 7.00pm every Thursday

Lest we forget….

When we began in 1952, NRUC numbered among its founding members men and women who had served their country during war time, and our commitment to honouring the memory of both those who fell and those who survived has not faltered since. Our current members include Vietnam vets and descendants of WWI or WW2 vets who march through Sydney streets on ANZAC Day each year. In our own grounds we commemorate those whose lives were sacrificed with a field of poppies and a special Sunday service in April every year, as well as contributing representatives to local Ryde and RSL services.
